In summary, from 1972 to 2014:
- ‘Protestant’ declined from 62.5% to 43.2%
- ‘Catholic’ declined from 27.4% to 25.4%
- ‘No religion’ increased from 5.1% to 20.7%
- The Jewish population (not shown) decreased from 3% to 1.6%
Also:
- The Muslim population (not shown) decreased very slightly from 0.5% in 1998 to 0.4% in 2014.
These figures are based on an average sample size of 2,000 persons with a margin of error around ±2%.
